The Players’ Guide is written by the most experienced players of Orkfia II: Alliances At War to ensure that you will get the best help possible in learning and mastering this game.
A Unique Strategy War Game
Alliances At War is an exciting online strategy game, developed and maintained by its players. It is text based and situated in a fantasy world called “Orkfia”, a world inspired by Tolkien’s Middle Earth. Together with other players in your alliance you will be warring others as they step in your way. The combination of strategy and war is the ultimate challenge in Alliances At War, besides basic stuff like training military, constructing buildings and trying to stay alive.
Free to play
It is completely free to play since dedicated players sponsor this game.
No resets
After 6 weeks your tribe leader is 100 years old and dying. Dying of age is unavoidable, but also means that you may start playing at any time and still enjoy competing for the top ranks.
Easy to start playing
Just decide for a race that fits you from the race listing and you are ready to go.
Easy to keep playing
If you survive the full period of 6 weeks that your leader has to live, you will start your next tribe with heritage – a bonus to land, money and fame – based on the success of your previous tribe.
Rules for fair play
The Code of Conduct was created by players and contains the rules enforced in Alliances At War.
More than just a game
Alliances At War has a friendly community eager to help new players. The first place where you will meet other players is inside your alliance, using the alliance forum. (Remeber to say “hello” to your new allied friends in there!) To interact with more players we have both the World Forum (available in game) and the #orkfia IRC-channel (located at the netgamers.org server).
“Orkfia is also one of the few games you will ever play where you can choose to influence the future of the game and get involved at staffing level if that is what you want. Compared to the mammoth commercial games available it may be a speck of dust, but I think for at least a few hundred people of many different countries this game means more to them than any of the multi-million dollar games and that’s quite an achievement whichever way you look at it.“ (Jamzi/Orkfia Portal, 2008).
Welcome to Alliances At War
We wish you the best of luck getting to learn this exciting strategy game, and hope to see you inside the game soon!
